¨For more than twenty years Economy Rent a Car has been a company that has stood out in Costa Rica and has earned a prestigious reputation in its own right. Economy Rent a Car Workshop Division

In this department of the company lies the customer service area that is rarely seen by our clientele. Responsible for quality control including the coordination of personnel, mechanical check ups and exterior maintenance and cleanliness of the fleet, our workshop is a main reason our customers return time and time again. Economy Rent a Car has developed its operations in order to be self sufficient, that being; our workshop has all the necessary equipment and man-power to provide complete maintenance to all our vehicles. For this reason all vehicles are fully maintenanced after each rental.

SHUTTLE INFORMATION

Shuttle service runs continuously during operating hours. Free shuttle service to all hotels in the area where we have locations. if client uses airport counter of SJO. Airport or is transferred from SJO. Airport by economy a 12% airport tax will apply. if customer pick’s up car at off airport office located on airport blvd next to Hampton inn, (across the street 2 minutes from the airport terminal), 12% ap tax will be waived. all other airport locations do not have 12% tax. This tax only applies in SJO.

RESERVATION POLICY TO HOLD YOUR VEHICLE

It is the policy of economy to have the confirmed vehicle available for a period of up to 2 hours after the scheduled time of arrival with the exception if the customer provides flight itinery. This will ensure that the location continues to hold the vehicle in the event of delayed flights. A $25 surcharge if customer cancels 24 hours pior to reservation.

AGE RESTRICTIONS

All drivers ages 21-80 are eligible to rent. Minimum age through double deductible program is 18-20 ages 18 through 20 may be subject to a young driver fee of $5.00usd per day.

Required Documents

All drivers must have a valid drivers license with an expiration date of no less than 1 month after the estimated return date of the rental vehicle.

• Must have a valid drivers license from drivers country of origin.
• Must have a valid passport.
• Must have a valid international drivers license if the drivers license of origin is not in roman alphabet.
  

ADDITIONAL DRIVER

Additional drivers must must meet the minimum age requirements and present a valid drivers license. Surcharge for additional driver is $5.00usd per day.

FORMS OF PAYMENT

Renter must present a major credit card in their own name. Valid credit cards accepted are:

• Diners Club
• MasterCard
• Discover
• Debit cars are accepted.

Cash rentals at time of return.

Deposit- a major credit card is required at time of rental to take a security deposit. Deposit depends on car category, rental period and insurance details.

EQUIPMENT

Child seat/infant-cost - usd 5.00 per day child seats are required by law for children under the age of 12 yrs or any child that weighs less than 20 kgs.

All items are subject to availability at time of arrival.

CELL PHONE RENTALS

Cellular phone rentals are available in any economy location
Cell phones are $2.00 per day, $1.80usd per min long distance, $0.70usd per min local call.

ONE WAY SERVICE

One way service is available in any economy location.
All vehicles are available for a one way rental drop off fee cost for a one way rental is $50.00usd and requires a 3 day minimum rental period.

GEOGRAPHIC RESTRICTIONS

Vehicles may not be taken out of the country.

TAXES

12 percent airport tax only in Juan Santa Maria airport.
No other tax apply.

RESTRICTIONS APPLY

Changes made to date; time and vehicle type on reservations could result in a rate difference.

Total may differ at time of rental because some fees and surcharges may be taxable. Taxes and surcharges are not within our control and may change without notice.

Advisory: charges associated with the base rate are those which are applicable at the time of booking and could be subject to change. Only those charges listed as mandatory are included in the total rate for the displayed rental.

MISCELLANEOUS

Service provided by economy rent a car. Rental counter located in airport terminal. If client uses airport counter or is transfered from the airport by economy a 12% airport tax will apply. If customer pick’s up car at off airport office located on airport blvd, (2 minutes from the airport terminal, next to the Hampton inn), 12% ap tax will be waived. Liability (sli) coverage costs $12.00usd to $28.00usd per day. If renter cannot present proof of insurance in Costa Rica at time of rental, renter will be required to purchase insurance as condition of rental. Renter must have $1,200usd available on credit card for hold on vehicles. Luxury SUVs require $2500usd. Vehicle is held 1 hour after, reserved time if flight itinerary is not provided. A $25.00usd surcharge if customer cancels 24 hours pior to reservation.
