Liability Insurance limits the responsibility of the client over damages caused to third party properties to 20%. This insurance has Coverage of up to 150 million colones per accident. Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) is optional provided that at the time of rental the customer can present proof of liability coverage in Costa Rica. If you cannot show proof of coverage, the acceptance of liability coverage will be a condition of rental.

Acceptance of Collision Damage Waiver insurance limits the responsibility of the customer over the rental vehicle to a maximum deductible. CDW is an optional insurance, however if at the time of rental the customer can not present proof of coverage for loss or damage to the vehicle valid in Costa Rica, then the renter may be required to purchase CDW as a condition of rental.

Acceptance of Additional Protection insurace provides coverage to pedestrians and also picks up the 20% Liability deductible including lawyers expenses. API is an optional insurance and combined with Liability insurance gives the renter full coverage for damages to third parties.
