Important Information when Visiting Grenada

  • In Grenada, people drive on the left side of the road just as they do in many other countries in the Caribbean. Take precautions and adapt your driving if you aren't used to this system.
  • Follow traffic signals and local guidelines. Respect speed limits and yield as needed.
  • When parking, be sure to do so in places where it is allowed and respect local regulations. Avoid blocking traffic or parking in unauthorized spots.
  • If you plan to explore the mountainous areas of Grenada, like Grand Etang National Park, be prepared for steep and curvy roads. Carry enough water and plan your stops.
  • When driving and interacting with the locals, show respect and courtesy. Respect the customs and lifestyle of the local population.
  • If you are driving at night, keep in mind that roads might lack illumination in some areas. Drive carefully and use the high-beam headlights when necessary.
  • There will be an added charge of $5.75 USDper day for an additional driver.
  • Drivers must be over 21 years of age to be responsible for a rented vehicle. Drivers under 25 years old will be charged a fee of $11.25 USD a day.
  • Clients who don't cancel their reservation through the same means as it was reserved, at least 24 hours before pick-up, or do not show up for their reservation are subject to a $25 USD charge or the rental amount for the day, whichever is highest.
  • The vehicle must be returned with the same amount of fuel as it had when it was rented to avoid a refueling charge.
  • Roadside assistance covers tire repair, refueling the vehicles on the road, loss or misplacement of keys, and damages. The replacement parts, the fuel, and the tires are not included.
  • Premium Location Fee: An additional 10% tax is implicit due to airport surcharge for being a prime location for the rental company.
  • License: The renter and all approved drivers must be in possession of a complete driver's license, which ought to be valid for at least 2 years. In addition, the following conditions apply depending on the country issuing the driver's license. The driver will require a local driving permit and this can be issued at the time of rental for a cash only payment of 24.00 USD, when showing a valid driver's license, for those who don't have a CARICOM driver's license.   • Insurance: The Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) eliminates the driver's responsibility towards a part of the vehicle, if there is any damage. If the CDW is accepted, the client is only responsible for the following amounts: 2,000 USD (ECAR, CDAR), 3,500 USD (SFAR), 4,000 USD (SVAR). If the exemption isn't accepted, the client is responsible for the total damage of the car.
  • Method of Payment: The following credit cards are accepted: MasterCard, Visa. As is the case of Cash American, we do not accept the Discover Card or Diners Club. You'll get an advanced approval fee for the chosen method of payment as a warranty.
  • The climate in Grenada is tropical so pack light, comfortable clothing, as well as a bathing suit. Don't forget to protect yourself from the sun using hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
  • English is the official language but many habitants also speak Grenadian creole languages. Leaning some basic phrases will be very useful to you.
