Important Information when Visiting Nosara

  • Nosara is known for its unpaved, reddish dirt roads — a 4x4 is essential, especially in rainy season (May–Nov).
  • Roads connecting the different Nosara districts (Playa Guiones, Pelada, Nosara Village) can flood after heavy rain; check conditions locally before heading out.
  • Speed bumps are frequent near the yoga studios and schools along the main road — go slow.
  • GPS signal and paved-road assumptions can be unreliable here; ask our team for the best current route.

  • Given Nosara's unpaved terrain, we strongly recommend an SUV or 4x4 over a sedan.
  • All rentals include Costa Rica's mandatory protection plan.
  • Nosara is roughly 5 hours by road from San José, or a short charter flight from SJO.
  • Fill up before exploring — gas stations are limited to the main village area.
