Important Information when Visiting Cyprus

  • In Cyprus, people drive on the left side of the road just like in the United Kingdom. Pay attention when following this norm, especially when turning at intersections and overtaking.
  • Pay attention to traffic signals and respect the speed limits. The latter may vary according to the type of street and local conditions.

  • The minimum age to rent a car is 21 years old, the maximum age is 70.
  • There is a 4,00 EUR charge per day, per person over 70 and for drivers between 21 and 24 years old.
  • Reservations must be canceled at least 24 hours before pick-up, through the same source where the reservation was made, or the client will be subject to a day’s rent.
  • All clients must pay for a tank of gas in Cyprus and take the vehicle with an empty tank.
  • Valid Driver’s License: You’ll need a driver’s license from your home country to drive in Cyprus, as well as your passport. Temporary driver’s licenses can be rejected and not accepted.
  • You’ll require a credit or debit card (with the main driver’s name) to make a rental deposit. Deposits may vary according to the vehicle and protection plan you choose. This deposit will be released once the car is returned, if the car is in the same condition as when it was picked up at the office, and this could take several days and up to a week to process.
  • Method of Payment: Credit/debit cards with the renter’s name (restrictions may apply).
  • Be sure to have all the necessary documents to enter Cyprus, including a valid passport, and if necessary, a visa. The regulations may change so verify the requirements before travel.
