  • Guam has a tropical climate, which means there can be intense rainfalls at any given time. Be sure to turn on the front lights of the vehicle, in the rain, to improve visibility and reduce your speed on wet roads.
  • Pay attention to the possibility of animals on the road, like wild pigs and other local fauna. Reduce speed in areas that are prone to animal presence and be alert.
  • Some areas in Guam have limited illumination at night. Be sure to use the front lights and taillights of your vehicle and, slow down to adapt to the conditions of poor visibility.
  • If you plan to spend time at the beach, follow the parking instructions and local regulations. Avoid blocking access areas and park in designated spots to avoid getting tickets or being towed.
  • Make sure to rent a vehicle that adapts to your needs. If you are going to explore destinations with difficult access, un-paved or steep roads, we recommend renting an SUV.If you wish to spend less on fuel, ideally you should rent a sedan.
  • Consider additional equipment you may need for your adventure such as a car seat, Wi-Fi, GPS, and others.
  • The vehicle must be returned with the same amount of gasoline as it had when it was rented to avoid a refueling service charge.
  • Valid Driver's License: We will need to see a driver's license from your home country to drive in Guam, along with your passport.
  • Proof of Insurance: If you plan to self-insure, we'll need proof of personal coverage with the renter's name on the policy and show collision and civil liability insurance for injury and property damage. ***Economy Rent a Car does not accept commercial insurance for vehicle rental.
  • Method of Payment: Credit or debit card under the renter's name (restrictions may apply).
  • Guam has a tropical climate so pack light, comfortable clothing and bathing suits. Don't forget to protect yourself from the sun with hats, sunglasses, and sunblock.
  • Guam's official languages are English and Chamorro. Learning a few basic phrases may be useful to communicate with the locals.
