Important Information when Visiting Aruba

  • Familiarize yourself with the local traffic signals and laws. Maximum speeds vary depending on the type of roadway, and fines for speeding can be high.
  • In Spain, you must drive on the right side of the road.
  • Pay attention to the priority signals and yield regulations at intersections and roundabouts.
  • Both the driver and passengers must wear a seatbelt at all times.
  • Respect parking signs and regulated parking zones (blue or green zone). Be sure to pay if needed.
  • Some highways and expressways may have tollbooths. Be sure to have cash or a valid credit card to pay the toll.
  • Pay careful attention to traffic signals, especially if you are unfamiliar with the area. Follow the signs to avoid confusion.
  • The minimum age to be a renter or to be an additional driver is 18 years old. Drivers between 18 and 20 can only rent from groups B, C, D, and E for an additional 12 € a day, with a minimum of 36 € and a maximum of 180 €.
  • From ages 21 to 25, the additional cost will be of 7 € a day, with a minimum of 21 € and a maximum of 91 €. The maximum age to rent a vehicle is 79 years old (included).
  • Roadside Assistance: Express Roadside Assistance (ERA) is an optional product. This program has a cost of 7 € a day. With ERA, you'll have jump-starting and fuel service (in case you run out of fuel) without an additional cost. If the client prefers not to purchase ERA then, the client will be responsible for any service charge, if one of the aforementioned services is needed.
  • The vehicle must be returned with the same amount of fuel as when it was rented, to avoid a refueling charge.
  • We require a deposit of 1,200 € to 3,000 € at the time of pick up to cover any damages. The client has the option of acquiring our insurance to avoid this deposit, with a cost between 18 € and 25 € a day, depending on the chosen car.
  • Shuttle:
  • Terminal 1: Once you exit Terminal 1, you'll see a coffee shop called "Go Natural". Walk towards Parking lot G and take the stairs at the end. At this point, our courtesy shuttle will be waiting. It comes around every 10-15 minutes. Our minibus will take you directly to the Nizacars office.

  • Driver's License: The renter must present a valid driver's license at the time of the rental. Foreign renters must present a valid driver's license and a valid passport, and according to their date of entry, which they must present at the time of the rental, they will be allowed to rent a vehicle for a maximum of 30 days.
  • We accept payments by credit card (Visa and Mastercard) and debit card. We do not accept Diners Club, American Express, Maestro, VPAY or any type of prepaid card or check.
  • We accept all main credit and debit cards. The deposit will be withheld on your card for a minimum amount of 1,200 € to a maximum of 3,000 € at the time of the rental. Once the vehicle has been returned, this deposit will be released; this process may take from 7 to 14 business days.
  • Clients who have prepaid their reservation using a debit card must keep in mind that the rental location may require them to use a credit card under the name of the renter for a deposit on the rental car. Clients who do not have a credit card may be denied the rental service.
  • Spain is known for its rich cultural and regional diversity. Each region has its own history, culture, and often times, language. Be sure to explore the different parts of the country to appreciate this diversity.
  • The official language of Spain is Spanish, although many people speak English in tourist areas. Learning some basic Spanish phrases might be useful and appreciated.
  • Meal timesin Spain are usually different from other countries. Lunch (main meal) is usually eaten between 1:30-3:30 p.m., while dinner is served after 8:30 p.m.
  • Enjoy a culture of tapas and pinchos. Many bars and restaurants serve small portions of food with ever beverage. It is an excellent way to try a variety of dishes.
  • At restaurants, it is common to leave a tip of 5-10% of the total bill, though it is not obligatory. At bars, it is common to leave some coins as a tip.
  • Spain offers a great variety of attractions, from historical monuments to beautiful beaches. Don't miss out on landmarks such as SagradaFamilia in Barcelona, Madrid's Royal Palace, Alhambra of Granada, and the beaches of Costa del Sol.
