Important Information when Visiting Virgin Islands
DRIVING TIPS
Be sure to have all the necessary documents to enter the US Virgin Islands, including a valid passport. American citizens do not require a visa but citizens of other countries might have different requirements.
The official currency is the American dollar. Most places accept credit cards but we recommend having some cash for small purchases and tips.
As you'll be in a tropical climate, it is essential to carry wide spectrum protection sunscreen and insect repellent to protect yourself from the sun's rays and mosquitos.
Carry light and comfortable clothing, such as bathing suits, t-shirts, shorts, and sandals. In addition, pack a pair of comfortable shoes to walk and explore.
The US Virgin Islands are famous for beaches and aquatic activities. Be sure to have a swimsuit, snorkeling goggles, and other snorkeling equipment as the crystal waters are ideal to explore marine life.
The tropical climate can be hot and humid, so keep yourself hydrated by regularly drinking water, especially if you are participating in outdoor activities.

TRAVELING IN THE VIRGIN ISLANDS
In the US Virgin Islands, you drive on the left side of the road due to the American influence. Pay careful attention to this detail, especially at first, to avoid confusion and possible accidents.
The US Virgin Islands follow USA traffic laws. Respect driving signals, traffic lights, and standard US driving practices.
Pay attention to the road as you may encounter potholes and unexpected slopes. Drive carefully over irregular terrain to avoid damaging the vehicle.
In urban and tourist areas, parking may be limited. Locate designated parking spots and be sure to park where it is permitted and avoid fines.
In rural areas, you may encounter animals on the road. Reduce your speed and keep an eye out in order to avoid collisions with animals.
