Important Information when Visiting Poland

  • In Poland, you drive on the right and overtake on the left. However, trolley buses will overtake on the right.
  • You will find gas stations approximately every 35 km and they are open from 6-22 hours.
  • In Poland you cannot park within 5 meters of a crosswalk.
  • In Poland speed limits are as follows: 60 km/h in the city, 90 km/h on the highway, and 110 km/h on the expressway.
  • Police control is pretty common and can be done with police cars or unmarked cars. The police usually control speed limits and test if people are driving under the influence of alcohol.
  • While traveling through Poland, you must have the headlights on all day. It is a rule that is kept throughout the year.
  • The fee for an additional driver is $5.00 per day, with a maximum of 3 additional drivers.
  • (The minimum age is 19 and maximum age is 75.) All vehicle groups can be driven by clients who are 18 or older. For young drivers, between the ages of 18 and 24, there will be a $5 USD fee, VAT included, as long as they have a driver's license and at least one year's experience.
  • Clients that do not cancel their reservation at the source 48 hours before pick up, or don't show up for pick up, will be subject to a $25 USD fee, or the cost of one day's rent, whichever is highest.
  • If the client returns the vehicle with the same amount of fuel as when it was received, there will be no additional charges.
  • The client may acquire the FTE (Full to Empty) service and return the vehicle with any amount of fuel without an additional cost. This service costs between 100-200 USD depending on the vehicle group, VAT included.
  • Information about cross-border trips must be given at the rental location, along with the rental, or the renter must inform that the vehicle will cross an international border during the rental period. The cost to travel cross-border is $10 USD a day, VAT included, with a maximum charge of $50 USD.
  • Accepted Payment Options: Diners Club International, Discover, UPI - UnionPay International, JCB - JCB International, AMEX, Visa credit or debit card, Visa Electron, VPay, Mastercard credit or debit card, Card Blanche, Mastercard Digital, Eurocard, Maestro, BLIK, Google Pay (G Pay), Samsung Pay. Debit cards and cash are accepted. Payment services in your currency.
  • Security Deposit (SD): You'll need a credit or debit card for each rental deposit. Cash is also accepted with the exception of prepaid cards. The deposit amount will cover the CDW and TP excess and a tank of gas. For rentals without insurance, the deposit will be of $2,000 USD of excess plus a tank of gas.
  • All citizens that are state members of the European Union, the European Economic Area, and countries with international bilateral agreements such as the Republic of Korea and Japan may use their driver's license from their country of origin on Polish land at all times. Clients from the United States, Canada, Australia, and China must have an International Driving Permit (IDP) from their country of origin.   • Deposit: The amount of the rental plus a minimum of $800 will be retained on your card at the time of rental.
  • The climate in Poland can vary significantly according to the season. Be sure to check the weather report before traveling and pack the right kinds of clothes, such as sweaters and warm clothing for the winter, and light clothing for the summer. If you are traveling in the wintertime, prepare yourself for the cold and snow.
  • Polish is the official language, but in tourist areas it is common to find people who speak English. However, learning some basic phrases in Polish may be appreciated and useful.
  • The official currency is the Polish Zloty (PLN). Be sure to carry some cash and verify the exchange rate before changing your money. Some credit cards are widely accepted in tourist destinations but keep in mind that some smaller establishments might prefer cash.
  • Poland has a well-developed public transportation network, including trains and buses. Trains are an excellent way to travel in the main cities. Use the app or website for Polish railways (PKP Intercity) to learn schedules and buy tickets.
  • Polish food is delicious and has a lot of variety. Try traditional dishes such as pierogi (stuffed dumplings), kielbasa (sausage), and zurek (sour rye soup).
