  Additional Drivers

Additional driver charge is $10.00 per day with a maximum of 1 additional driver.

  After Hours

All service pickups or drop-offs before 8AM or after 5PM are subject to an after hour fee of $30.00 that will be added to your bill.

  Age

Maximum age 85. The minimum age of the Renter or any additional driver must be 23. Drivers age 18-23 may rent a vehicle for an additional charge of $10.00 per day with higher L.D.W deductible. No additional charges will apply if Renter is over the age of 23.

  Cancellation

Customers who fail to cancel their reservation from the source it was booked, at least 48 hours prior of the pick up time, or do not show up for their reservation are subject to a $ 35 USD charge or one day rental charge, whichever is higher.

  Debit Cards

Debit cards are permitted. No cash deposits are allowed. Economy Rent a Car accepts all major credit cards. No one other than the person named on the credit card may use that credit card for the deposit. The card holder must be present at the time of rental.

  Drivers License

Renter must present a valid driver license at the time of rental. Foreign renters must present a valid driver license and a valid passport and based on the date of the entry stamp, will be allowed to rent a vehicle for up to 90 days, present at time of rental.

  Emergency Info

(ERA) Is an optional product, this program will have a cost of 5.00/day. With ERAjump starts and gas service (in case you run out of gas) will be provided at gas cost. If customer prefers not to purchase ERA then will be responsible for any *service fees* in the event said customer requires any of the services listed above.

  Equipment

Economy rent a car has the following products available upon request:, GPS, Baby Seat, Booster Seats, maps. Prices vary and all items are subject to availability upon arrival. It is the law that children and babies be seated in baby seats or booster seat you may be fined up to 3000 dollars by Aruban police.

  Gas

Vehicle must be returned with same amount of fuel as rented to avoid a refueling service charge.

  Geographic

Vehicles cannot be taken outside the country of Aruba. If you take the car out of Aruba, then it will be considered negligence and a penalty charge will apply, plus time and expenses.

  Insurance

This is not an insurance policy.- L.W. - Liability Waiver * is a waiver of Economy Rent A Cars right to charge the Renter or Renters for damages to third parties during the rental period and is required unless the Renters can provide written proof that their personal insurance will provide acceptable coverage in Aruba during the rental period. It also reduces customers legal expenses to zero. L.W. limits charges for damages for injuries and third party properties to a 20 percent deductible and will also cover vehicle storage and administrative fees. L.W. charges are: from $15.00 to $25.00 per day. L.L.W - Limited Loss Waiver L.L.W. an optional product that will reduce the Renters third party liability deductible to zero Vehicles - $13.00 USD per day. --written proof-- If Renter wishes to decline L.W. Liability Waiver or L.D.W. Loss Damage Waiver and rely on the their own personal insurance, the Renter must provide written proof from their insurance company, specifically stating coverage is effective in the country of Aruba for the duration of the rental agreement for third part liability. A minimum security deposit of $2,500 USD will be required, if customer does not accept L.W. then L.L.W will automatically be required. Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) provides coverage for third party automobile claims is available with maximum limits of liability for personal injury to USD/2,500 and for property damage USD/2,500, as long as the vehicle is used in accordance with the terms and conditions of the rental agreement.

  Local Renters

Local renters are those who do not bring proof of return flight

  Mileage

Free mileage are offer to the rental under normal island use. Mileage restrictions may apply for local and long term renters.

  One-Way

There may be an additional charge for dropping off the vehicle at a different office. The drop off charge varies depending at which office you are renting from and which office you are returning the vehicle into.

  Optional Protection Products

Emergency roadside assistance: all contracts will be automatically enrolled in the emergency roadside assistance (ERA) program at surcharge of only 5.00/day, jump starts and gas service (in case you run out of gas) will be provided at no cost. If customer prefers not to participate, they must decline participation upon rental and be responsible for any *service fees* in the event said customer requires any of the services listed above.

  Payment

We accept all major credit and debit cards, Deposit: The amount of the rent plus a minimum of $ 950, will be held in your card at the time of the rental, once the vehicle is returned this deposit will be released this process can take 7 to 14 business days.All charges will be processed in Dollars.Prices are provided in U.S. dollars as a courtesy to our customers, we are not responsible for banking charges that may incur when using your card. Cash deposits, Travelers Checks, Unembossed Credit or Debit cards will be subject to verification at the moment of the rental. For those reservations that require a credit card guarantee, customers will be subject to a one day rental fee if they fail to show up to rent their reserved car, or if reservations are not canceled at least 48 hours prior to the reserved date through the source the reservation was made through.

  Prepaid Debit Cards

Customers who make a prepaid reservation using a debit card need to be aware that the renting location may require a credit card in the renters name be used for leaving a deposit for the rental in order to rent the car. Customers who do not have a credit card may be denied rental.

  Prepaid Reservations

If you have made a reservation you may pay on arrival however to make a reservation we will need a credit card to guarantee your vehicle. There may be an authorization on your Credit Card statement of USD$1.00 please be advised that a no show fee equivalent to a one day rental plus taxes with a minimum of USD$35.00 will be charged to the Credit Card. If vehicle is not pick up you can avoid this fee by cancelling your reservation through the same website you made it, you cannot call or write to cancel you can cancel only through the website where the reservation was made at least 48 hours in advance of your scheduled rental time. Prepaid reservations-if you have a prepaid reservation your Credit Card will be charged in full at the time you made your reservation. The Credit Card that you paid your reservation must be present at the time of pick up. Refund and cancellation policy-a prepaid reservation is a nonrefundable booking. If you do not pick up your rental when scheduled your reservation will not be modified. If you do not pick up your rental when scheduled your reservation will be cancelled and you will not receive a refund or credit. For customer satisfaction Economy will apply a refund for any of the reasons below-after verification- -flight cancelled and customer could not get to the rental location-natural disaster prevented travel- Illness prevented travel-death in family prevented travel-jury duty prevented travel-Economy was unable to fulfill the customer reservation (example no vehicle available) - Any action due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Please be advised that there will be a charge of a handling fee for cancelling. If a customer chooses to change the date of their reservation the handling fee will be waived but may be subject to a rate adjustment. For date change please contact 1 877 326 7368. To process a refund or if you have any problems with your reservation please email customercare@economyrentacar.com. Must be prior to your pick up.

  Reservation hold time

Vehicles are held for two hours after reserved arrival time. When flight details are provided, we will hold vehicle for up to two hours after flight arrival. In the event of delays, you may call or e-mail us to advise of any changes in your pick up time. After the two hour window, you will be considered a no-show and we may or may not be able to honor your reservation, depending upon availability.   Shuttle

Thank you for choosing Economy Rent a Car represented in Aruba by SmartRent. When you arrive please proceed to rental shuttle:After customs and baggage claim area step outside of the arrival hall at the airportterminal,.Cross the cross-walk infront of the arrival hall while crossing infront of the middle isle you will find a big yellow sign that says SHUTTLE, Someone will be there waiting for you with a paper sign with your name on it. Your reserved vehicle is held for two hours after the actual flight arrival or for two hours after reserved arrival time. When exact flight details are provided, we will honor all reservations for up to two hours after reserved pick up time has passed. You may call or email us to advice of a change in your pick up time and we will honor your reservation. After the two hour window, your reservation will be considered a no show and it will be cancelled. If you arrive after the two hour window, we may or may not be able to honor your reservation, depending upon availability.   CDW

L.D.W - Loss Damage Waiver * - is an optional product, it is a waiver of Economy Rent A Cars right to collect from the Renter for damages caused to the rental vehicle over the deductible amount. Deductible varies by vehicle. L.D.W. charges are: $15.00 to $25.00 per day. L.D.W. *All Waivers will be void if the terms of the rental agreement are violated. All of the products or waivers listed will become null and void in the event of negligence while driving or while in possession of the rental vehicle such as driving the vehicle across beaches, rivers, etc, or driving under the influence of liquor, drugs or any other substance that could impair the driver’s ability to operate the vehicle. Other negligent acts include, but are not limited to, leaving the keys in the ignition with the vehicle unattended, falling asleep while driving, ignoring traffic signals or police officers. --written proof-- If Renter wishes to decline L.W. Liability Waiver or L.D.W. Loss Damage Waiver and rely on the their own personal insurance, the Renter must provide written proof from their insurance company, specifically stating coverage is effective in the country of Aruba for the duration of the rental agreement for third part liability.
