  •   Additional Drivers

    ADDITIONAL DRIVERS - Additional driver charge is US $5.00 per day with a maximum of 2 additional drivers .

  •   Age

    AGE - The minimum age of the Renter or any additional driver must be 25yrs.Drivers under 25 yrs are strictly not permitted.Drivers 76 – 80 yrs must have a recent medical certificate of fitness to drive. Drivers over 80 yrs of age are strictly not permitted.

  •   Cancellation

    CANCELLATION - Customers who fail to cancel their reservation from the source it was booked, at least 48 hours prior of the pickup time, or do not show up for their reservation are subject to a $50 USD charge or one day rental charge, whichever is higher. Drivers who do not meet the age requirements (as stipulated above) are subject to a $50USD charge or one day rental charge, whichever is higher.

  •   CDW

    C.D.W. insurance is available. Cost is US $70/week (minimum charge) or $10/day (whichever is greater). CDW does not cover damages to tires & rims, interior damages, nor non-reported accidents.

  •   Debit Cards

    DEBIT CARDS - Debit cards are permitted. No cash deposits are allowed. Economy Rent a Car accepts all major credit cards. No one other than the person named on the credit card may use that credit card for the deposit. The card holder must be present at the time of rental.

  •   Drivers License

    DRIVERS LICENSE - Renter must present a valid driver license at the time of rental. Foreign renters must present a valid driver license and a valid passport. A local Visitors Permit is required by law for non-nationals and can be purchased at time of rental. Cost is US $5.00 per permit and is valid for 2 months.

  •   Emergency Info

    In the event of an accident you must call the rental office (246) 420-6372 immediately. This number is also located on the top of the rental agreement and on the back of the car. Unreported accidents are NOT covered by any insurance product and you therefore are liable if you do not report immediately.

  •   Equipment

    EQUIPMENT - Economy rent a car has the following products available upon request: GPS, Baby Seat, Booster Seats, maps, and other accessories. Prices vary and all items are subject to availability upon arrival. It is the law that children and babies be seated in baby seats or booster seat.

  •   Gas

    GAS - Vehicle must be returned with same amount of fuel as rented to avoid a refueling service charge.

  •   Insurance

    The insurance covers the vehicle (comprehensive coverage), passenger liability (unlimited amount), 3rd party liability (unlimited amount). There is a deductible of US $750.00 which can be covered by most credit cards, travel insurance, or personal vehicle insurance. Only the drivers who have signed the rental agreement are covered by the vehicle insurance. Any other driver who has NOT signed the agreement is driving illegally (regardless or affiliation) and is NOT covered by the vehicle insurance. The renter will be held liable for ALL cost incurred (including but not limited to; full vehicle cost, full cost of injuries and other 3rd party damages) in the event that a non-insured driver is permitted to drive.

  •   One-Way

    ONE-WAY - There may be an additional charge for dropping off the vehicle at a different location. The drop off charge varies depending the location you are returning the vehicle to.

  •   Payment

    PAYMENT - We accept all major credit and debit cards, Deposit: The amount of the rent plus a minimum of $750, will be held in your card at the time of the rental, once the vehicle is returned this deposit will be released.All charges will be processed in Barbados dollars. Prices are provided in U.S. dollars as a courtesy to our customers, we are not responsible for banking charges that may incur when using your card. Cash deposits, Unembossed Credit or Debit cards will be subject to verification at the moment of the rental. Reservations require a credit card guarantee, customers will be subject to a one day rental fee or US $100 (whichever is higher) if they fail to show up to rent their reserved car, or if reservations are not canceled at least 48 hours prior to the reserved date through the source the reservation was made through.

  •   Prepaid Debit Cards

    PREPAID DEBIT CARDS - Customers who make a prepaid reservation using a debit card need to be aware that the renting location will require a credit card in the renters name be used for leaving a deposit for the rental in order to rent the car. Customers who do not have a credit card may be denied rental.

  •   Prepaid Reservations

    If you have made a reservation you may pay on arrival however to make a reservation we will need a credit card to guarantee your vehicle. There may be an authorization on your Credit Card statement of USD$1.00 please be advised that a no show fee equivalent to a one day rental plus taxes with a minimum of USD$35.00 will be charged to the Credit Card. If vehicle is not pick up you can avoid this fee by cancelling your reservation through the same website you made it, you cannot call or write to cancel you can cancel only through the website where the reservation was made at least 48 hours in advance of your scheduled rental time. Prepaid reservations-if you have a prepaid reservation your Credit Card will be charged in full at the time you made your reservation. The Credit Card that you paid your reservation must be present at the time of pick up. Refund and cancellation policy-a prepaid reservation is a nonrefundable booking. If you do not pick up your rental when scheduled your reservation will not be modified. If you do not pick up your rental when scheduled your reservation will be cancelled and you will not receive a refund or credit. For customer satisfaction Economy will apply a refund for any of the reasons below-after verification- -flight cancelled and customer could not get to the rental location-natural disaster prevented travel- Illness prevented travel-death in family prevented travel-jury duty prevented travel-Economy was unable to fulfill the customer reservation (example no vehicle available) - Any action due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Please be advised that there may be a charge of up to USD$50.00 handling fee for canceling. If customer chooses to change the date of their reservation the handling fee will be waived but may be subject to a rate adjustment. For date change please contact 1 877 326 7368.   •   Reservation hold time

    HOLDING RESERVED VEHICLES - Vehicles are held for two hours after reserved arrival time. When flight details are provided, we will hold vehicle for up to two hours after flight arrival. In the event of delays, you may call or e-mail us to advise of any changes in your pick up time.   •   Shuttle
