A maximum of three (3) additional drivers may be added to the rental agreement at a cost of five Euro (€5.00) each per day, each additional driver must meet driving licence criteria, as described in the previous article. Additional drivers can only be added for the full duration of the rental. All insurance cover as part of the rental contract will become void, in particular, if an unauthorized driver has used the vehicle or if the driver of the vehicle does not possess the required driving licence at the time of the event giving rise to claim. These additional costs are not included in the rental cost quoted.

The Minimum Driving Age for this rental is twenty one (21). The Maximum Driving Age for this rental is seventy (70). A five Euro (€5.00) daily surcharge applies for a driver aged between twenty one (21) years of age and twenty four (24) years of age, and this without a maximum limit. This driver surcharge is not included in the rental cost quoted.

Customers who fail to cancel their reservation from the source they booked their rental, at least forty eight (48) hours prior to pick up time, or do not show up for their reservation, are subject to a thirty Euro (€30) administration charge or a one day rental charge, whichever is the higher.

The use of Debit cards is permitted. No cash deposits are allowed. The card holder must be present at the time of rental. Debit cards may also be used for deposits but at an additional charge of €20 (to be paid on arrival). The deposit will be taken as a sale (not a preauthorization). In case of debit cards, the client must also provide bank details so that the company may return the sale after 15 days from drop of date excluding any charges related to fines, damages etc.

A driver should have a valid driver’s license for the appropriate vehicle class he is going to rent, as described in the contract. We need to add that a 21 year old driver must have at least a minimum of 1 year driving experience.

The fuel policy at this branch is like for like, so you need to return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel as when you collect the vehicle, which is FULL. No charges for fuel will be added to your rental costs unless you return the vehicle with less than the fuel level at vehicle collection time. If you return the vehicle with less fuel then when you collected the vehicle, you will be charged for the missing fuel at current pump price plus an administration charge fee of thirty Euro (€30.00). No Fuel deposit will be taken when you collect the vehicle. No refunds will be given for unused fuel.

Ferry border to the island of Gozo is not included in the rental price quoted but is available at the rental desk at a cost of thirty Euro (€30.00) but no other Cross borders are allowed out of the islands of Malta and Gozo.

The price quoted includes unlimited mileage at no extra cost.

One Way Rentals are included in the price quoted, providing you have selected the correct drop off location when requesting a price.

Theft protection for the vehicle. Rental limits potential value vehicle damage is up to a maximum of the value of the vehicle as insured with the insurance agency.

The following credit cards are accepted: Visa, MasterCard, JCB, UnionPAy, Diners Club, DISCOVER and VPAY. Debit cards are accepted as a method of payment but cannot be used for deposit pre-authorization.The currency you will be charged in locally is Euro.

If you have made a reservation you may pay on arrival however to make a reservation we will need a credit card to guarantee your vehicle. There may be an authorization on your Credit Card statement of USD$1.00 please be advised that a no show fee equivalent to a one day rental plus taxes with a minimum of USD$35.00 will be charged to the Credit Card. If vehicle is not pick up you can avoid this fee by cancelling your reservation through the same website you made it, you cannot call or write to cancel you can cancel only through the website where the reservation was made at least 48 hours in advance of your scheduled rental time. Prepaid reservations-if you have a prepaid reservation your Credit Card will be charged in full at the time you made your reservation. The Credit Card that you paid your reservation must be present at the time of pick up. Refund and cancellation policy-a prepaid reservation is a nonrefundable booking. If you do not pick up your rental when scheduled your reservation will not be modified. If you do not pick up your rental when scheduled your reservation will be cancelled and you will not receive a refund or credit. For customer satisfaction Economy will apply a refund for any of the reasons below-after verification- -flight cancelled and customer could not get to the rental location-natural disaster prevented travel- Illness prevented travel-death in family prevented travel-jury duty prevented travel-Economy was unable to fulfill the customer reservation (example no vehicle available) - Any action due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Please be advised that there will be a charge of a handling fee for cancelling. If a customer chooses to change the date of their reservation the handling fee will be waived but may be subject to a rate adjustment. For date change please contact 1 877 326 7368. If we have been given the flight number we will monitor all flights for any delays and keep the car for the customer in opening hours, if customer is delayed and arrives when the branch is closed, they can collect the car the next morning, we will keep the car for them until midday the next morning. If no flight number has been given then we will only keep the car for the customer for one (1) hour after their booking collection time. If customer shows later than one (1) hour after the flight has been arrived, a twenty five Euro (€25) administration fee, will be charged on arrival.

There is a very clear no smoking policy in the rental vehicles. Should it be found that a customer has been smoking in the vehicle a cleaning charge of two hundred Euro (€200.00) will be chargeable after the rent is terminated.

The price quoted includes the Value Added Tax in Malta which at the present is eighteen per cent (18%).

Collision Damage Waiver is included in the costs of the rental. The coverage does not cover damage to windows, tyres, the roof, underside & interior of the vehicle, towing charges or damage caused negligently, wilfully or recklessly as well as key, car documents, manual, lighter, wiper blade, cargo cover, tool kit, or registration plates. On commencement of the rental agreement, a holding deposit of €1000-1400 (depending on the class of the vehicle) is required to be paid by the lessee to the lessor by a credit card in the name of the same lessee, unless the lessee does not purchase a reduced damage collision waiver, as described later in the following clause. In the event that the lessee returns the vehicle undamaged and/or has not incurred any unpaid fees and/or has not incurred charges and/or has fully complied with the terms and conditions of this rental agreement, then the lessor will return the holding deposit by crediting the same credit card used when the payment of the holding deposit was taken. In the event of any discrepancies in the return of the deposit amount, the lessee must make a claim in writing within thirty (30) days of the rental period. The lessee should allow twenty eight (28) working days for the return of all or part of the holding deposit to be credited to his / her account. Reduced CDW Reduced Collision Damage Waiver can be purchased by the lessee at the cost of twenty Euro (€20.00) per day by which the holding deposit is reduced to eight hundred Euro (€800.00).
