  Additional Drivers

To be covered by existing insurances, all drivers must be mentioned in the rental agreement. It is possible to add additional drivers, through payment of an additional fee of €4,90 per day per each additional driver.

  Age

Minimum age of 21 years; and holder of a driving license of at least at one year;Drivers from 21 to 23 years old and at least 1 year with drive license may rent a vehicle through payment of daily fee of €20.

  Cancellation

If the Client doesn´t cancel his reservation from the source it was booked, at least 48 hours prior of the pick up time, or do not show up for their reservation is subject to a 35€ charge or one day rental charge, whichever is higher.

  Drivers License

Drive license of all countries are accepted, except drive license from: Anguilla, Antígua, Bermudas, China, North Coreia, Dominica, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Cayman Islands, Cook Islands, Virgin Islands, American Virgin Islands, Montserrat, Palestin, Western Sahara, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Tonga.

  Equipment

Baby Chair/Child Safety Seat available through payment of 5€ daily fee, until maximum of 50€ per rent, with a liability of 60€. GPS equipment available through payment of 10€ daily fee, until maximum of 75€ per rent, with a liability of 100€ .

  Gas

The vehicle shall be delivered and returned with a full fuel tank; the non-compliance of this obligation shall give the right to the Autatlantis to charge the missing fuel, plus a refueling service fee, of 15€, as legally permitted. If a type of fuel other than the proper one is used in the vehicle, the Client will be responsible for the fuel replacement, disassembling and tank cleaning, towing and repairs.

  Geographic

The vehicle may only be driven on the Island of the Azorean Archipelago where it has been rented, unless prior written permission of the Autatlantis.

  Insurance

The Client (authorized driver) is insured by an automobile insurance policy covering limited civil liability up to a maximum of €50 million

  Optional Protection Products

The Client may hire, prior to signing an Agreement, the following insurance: a) Collision Damage Waiver (CDW):In case of accident, crash orrollover, Client’sresponsibility for damagescaused to thevehiclemaybereduced to thepaymentof a mandatoryliability, as long as hasbeenClient´sresponsibility, excludingdamagesunderthevehicle, damages in thewindscreen, rim and tires destroyed, clutchandgearbox; b) TheftProtectionInsurance (TP): In case oftheftofallorpartofthevehicle, theClient'sresponsibilitymaybewaived to paymentofliability, providedthatthetermsandconditionsoftherentalagreementhaven’tbeenbreached. The Clientisobliged to report to thecompetentauthorities, as well to returnthevehiclekeys, otherwisetheinsurancecoveragemaybecanceled. Thisinsurance does notincludetheprotectionofpersonalbelongingsorgoods; c) PersonalAccidentInsurance (PAI): In case ofaccident driver andremainingpassengerswillbecovered for medical expensesuntil €250 per passenger, in case ofdeathorpermanentdisability a coverageof €5.000 per passenger; d) SUPER CDW: Ifhired, with CDW and TP theClientisreducingmandatoryliability for damages, to a minimumvalue. Excludesdamagesunderthevehicle, damages in thewindscreen, rim and tires destroyed, clutchandgearbox; e) WindscreenDamageWaiver (WDW): Ifhired, with CDW, TP and SUPER CDW, theClientisreducing to thevalueofmandatoryliability, to a minimumvalue; f) Tire and Rim Waiver (TRW): Ifhired, with CDW, TP and SUPER CDW, theClientisreducingthevalueofmandatoryliability, to a minimumvalue. Liabilities: In case of damageoraccident, theClientisresponsible for paying a liability per occurrence, up to a maximumamountspecified in eachgroup, valuesofwhich are in thecurrent Insurance and Liabilities/Excess Table

  Payment

We accept all major credit and debit cards.Depositequivalent to contracted liability/excess, will be held in driver credit card at the time of the rental, once the vehicle is returned this deposit will be released this process can take 7 to 14 business days. Excess can be reduced in case additional coverage being hired in accordance with insurance/excess table.

  Prepaid Reservations

If you have made a reservation you may pay on arrival however to make a reservation we will need a credit card to guarantee your vehicle. There may be an authorization on your Credit Card statement of USD$1.00 please be advised that a no show fee equivalent to a one day rental plus taxes with a minimum of USD$35.00 will be charged to the Credit Card. If vehicle is not pick up you can avoid this fee by cancelling your reservation through the same website you made it, you cannot call or write to cancel you can cancel only through the website where the reservation was made at least 48 hours in advance of your scheduled rental time. Prepaid reservations-if you have a prepaid reservation your Credit Card will be charged in full at the time you made your reservation. The Credit Card that you paid your reservation must be present at the time of pick up. Refund and cancellation policy-a prepaid reservation is a nonrefundable booking. If you do not pick up your rental when scheduled your reservation will not be modified. If you do not pick up your rental when scheduled your reservation will be cancelled and you will not receive a refund or credit. For customer satisfaction Economy will apply a refund for any of the reasons below-after verification- -flight cancelled and customer could not get to the rental location-natural disaster prevented travel- Illness prevented travel-death in family prevented travel-jury duty prevented travel-Economy was unable to fulfill the customer reservation (example no vehicle available) - Any action due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Please be advised that there will be a charge of a handling fee for cancelling. If a customer chooses to change the date of their reservation the handling fee will be waived but may be subject to a rate adjustment. For date change please contact 1 877 326 7368. To process a refund or if you have any problems with your reservation please email customercare@economyrentacar.com. Must be prior to your pick up.

  Reservation hold time

Holding reserved vehicles. Vehicles are held for two hours after the pick-up time indicated at the time of the reservation, and only when flight details are provided to us at the time of the reservation, those reservations without a pick-up time listed will be subject to availability and a rate change may apply/ We will hold the vehicle for up to two hours the pick-up time indicated at the time of the reservation, and only . In the event of delays you may call or email us to advise of any changes in your pick up time. After the two hour hold time your reservation will be considered a no show and location may or may not be able to honor your reservation, depending upon availability. Please call our international call center at 877 326 73 68 to inform any change in your pick up time.

  Rules

By renting a vehicle from Autatlantis Rent A Car, Client agrees that any and all disputes and controversies arising out of reservations and rental of the vehicle shall be resolved solely and exclusively by the court of Ponta Delgada, in São Miguel, Azores, Portugal.

  CDW

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW):May be hired before signing an agreement, where in case of accident, crash or rollover, Client’s responsibility for damages caused to the vehicle may be reduced to the payment of a mandatory liability, as long as has been Client´s responsibility, excluding damages under the vehicle, damages in the windscreen, rim and tires destroyed, clutch and gearbox.
