  •   Additional Drivers

    Additional driver fee is $14.99 per day + taxes. Domestic partners and spouses will be added at no additional charge.

  •   Age

    The minimum age of rental is 21. Renters between 21 and 24 will be charged an UNDERAGE DRIVER FEE (UAGE) of $24.95 per day + taxes.

  •   Business Hours

    Our Orlando office is OPEN 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. It is our policy to HOLD reservations up to 2 Hours beyond the scheduled arrival time, subject to the customers scheduled pick up time. If you experience delays, please contact the rental office at 954-684-9030 so the staff can make the best effort to hold your reservation.

  •   Cancellation

    Economy requires a credit card to confirm your reservation although your credit card may not be charged at that time, cancellations or no-show fees may apply. As a general guideline, cancellations should be made at least 48 hours before your scheduled pickup time or a no show fee of $ 25 USD will be charged.

  •   Coverage Exclusions

    If you drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or use the rental vehicle in any other negligent or reckless way, or violate the conditions set out in the Rental Agreement, all applicable insurance covers, waiver, etc, will be deemed null and void and you will be fully responsible for all damage to the vehicle, as well as loss of use, damages to other vehicles and or persons and any other related costs. Only authorized drivers registered on the Rental Agreement are allowed to drive the rental vehicle. Damage caused by unauthorized drivers is not covered. If an improper type of fuel is put in the vehicle, renter will be responsible for all repairs barring insurance. Renter will have to cover all repair costs related to improper fuel usage.

  •   Coverages and Insurances

    Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) / Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) is not insurance. It is an optional waiver where the rental company waives its right to collect from the renter for damages caused to the rental vehicle except for any amount found on the page of the rental agreement, which is the renters responsibility. If a renter wants to decline CDW / LDW and rely on their own personal insurance, the renter must provide proof of insurance in the form of an insurance DECLARATION PAGE. Specifically stating the comprehensive and collision coverage and deductibles, that are effective and enforced for the duration of the rental agreement. This also applies to the coverage that may be provided through credit card companies and third party companies that will be used at the time of rental. If you do not provide proof of insurance through your credit card or through the third party insurance company, customers will be required to purchase CDW / LDW. When CDW / LDW is declined by the customer, if the car is stolen or damaged, the renter is responsible for its retail fair market value before theft or damage less salvage. All waivers will be voided if the terms of the rental agreement are violated. Please be advised that Economy Rent a Car will reserve the right to accept some insurance company coverage. Contact our location to get more information. Economy rent a car does not accept commercial insurance policies to rent a vehicle. Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) this coverage protects the renter or authorized driver against claims made by 3rd party for bodily injury and or property damage sustained because of an accident while operating a rental vehicle up to $300.000.00 USD. This coverage is in excess to the renters or authorized drivers own automobile liability insurance policy and over underlying insurance specified within your signed rental agreement. SLI is subject to the terms and conditions of the rental agreement and a copy of supplemental liability brochure is available from your rental agent. Please be advised that we do NOT work with credit card liability companies. If self insured with this product please note that purchase of SLI does not relieve you from primary responsibility of damage to the rented vehicle or any liability incurred. Any valid claims that are refused by the insurance carrier will be the responsibility of the renter. If the renter wants to be self insured, they must present proof of full insurance coverage in the form of a DECLARATION PAGE at the time of pick up that will transfer to the rental vehicle. The coverage must cover Theft, Collision and Comprehensive with the minimum value of the rental car. Liability (is bodily injury liability and property damage) required with the minimum of $25.000 / $50.000 / $25.000. If the renter does not have liability insurance, renter will be required to purchase insurance at the rental counter. The state of Florida requires that all drivers always carry proof of insurance with them. If self-insuring a security deposit equivalent to the collision deductible will be required of a minimum of $500 to $1.000.00 USD. Canadian Insurance coverage declaration pages must be in English and show coverages that are valid in the United States. To self-insure, Quebec Canadian insurance must have the Q.E.F27 endorsement with their current vehicle insurance policy at the time of rental. All other Canadian policies must have the endorsement stating civil liability resulting from damage caused to rental vehicles of which the insured is not the owner.

  •   Drivers License

    A valid driver's license in the customer's own name must be presented at the time of rental. Digital licenses are not accepted. The driver’s license must be valid for the entire rental period. Any customer using a foreign license must provide either a valid passport or a valid resident card to rent the car.

  •   Drop Off in Different Location

    If the vehicle is dropped off at another location other than the renting city there will be a drop off charge of up to $600

  •   Early Return

    Early returns will not result in a refund. Early returns will be charged the extra day daily rate. If any refunds are due after utilizing the extra day charges, you will be issued a refund for the remaining amount.

  •   Gas

    Vehicles must be returned with the same amount of fuel when it was rented to avoid a refueling service charge. Fuel $15 per gallon.

  •   Geographic

    Cars are not allowed to leave the state of Florida. If we are informed by the toll authorities that the vehicle has left the state of Florida the rental car company will charge the customer $1000usd and $0.50usd per mile and all tolls.

  •   Insurance

    SUPPLEMENTAL LIABILITY INSURANCE EXCEPT TO THE DEGREE WHICH IS REQUIRED BY APPLICABLE LAW OR YOUR RENTAL AGREEMENT, ECONOMY RENT A CAR DOES NOT EXTEND ANY OF ITS MOTOR VEHICLE FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY NOR DOES ECONOMY RENT A CAR PROVIDE ANY SUCH INSURANCE COVERAGE TO RENTERS, ANY PASSENGERS OR THIRD PARTIES THROUGH THIS BOOKING. IF SELF INSURING PROOF OF INSURANCE COVERAGE THAT WILL TRANSFER TO THE RENTAL VEHICLE MUST BE PRESENTED AT THE TIME OF RENTAL AND MUST COVER THEFT - COLLISION AND COMPREHENSIVE. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE OR CANNOT PROVIDE PROOF OF ADEQUATE LIABILITY INSURANCE YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO PURCHASE INSURANCE AT THE RENTAL COUNTER. ECONOMY RENT A CAR DOES NOT ACCEPT COMMERCIAL INSURANCE POLICIES TO RENT A VEHICLE.   •   Keys and Fobs

    You are responsible if the keys and fobs are lost or damaged and will be required to pay a penalty fee of up to $400USD (Depending on the type of vehicle). Please keep in mind that if you do not return the keys to the company when the car is reported stolen, your insurance is deemed voided, and you may be held responsible for the full value of the vehicle.

  •   Local Renters

    All customers with Florida driver licenses are considered local renters. Local renters are subject to a mileage cap of 150 free miles per day and $0.25 per mile in excess of mileage cap above. Local renters must have a valid major credit card and have current full coverage insurance that transfers to a rental vehicle with comprehensive collision and Liability with limits of $25.000/$50.000/$25.000. Local renters will be required to leave at minimum of $500.00 to $1,000 deposit at time of rental depending on your insurance deductible or if you purchase our HIF( Handling Insurance Fee) and LOU (Loss of Use) to cover their deductibles and Loss of Use on the vehicle the deposit will be $.01.

  •   Optional Protection Products

    Glass and Tire Protection (GTP) is not insurance, it is an optional waiver coverage to provide the renter or any authorized driver, to be covered for the protection of tires and glasses (including the windshield). GTP $4.95 per day plus taxes Handling Insurance fee (HIF) is an optional waiver for renters that choose to self insure. With the HIF renter will have a zero deductible up to $1.000.00 USD. In case of an accident and if it exceeds your deductible we will bill your insurance company directly. HIF will be required for customers who do not reside in the United States. Local Renters restrictions apply. This coverage does not include tires, windshield, stolen or lost keys. If the renter declines the HIF a $1.000.00 USD deposit will be required. HIF $4.95+taxes Loss of Use (LOU) is an optional waiver which will cover the loss of use or time down on the vehicle in case of an accident. If the renter declines the waiver or your insurance company does not cover loss of use, the cost of loss of use in the event of an accident or damage will be $35.00 USD per day if your insurance company does not cover our loss of use of the rental due to an accident or damages. LOU $4.95+taxes Protection deductible waiver (PDW) is an optional waiver. But will be required when using a debit card. This waiver will cover the up to $1000.00 in damage and will bring the security deposit to $1 USD. PDW $9.95+taxes.

  •   Other Extras Rates

    Economy rent a car offers a toll package for $12.95 per day + taxes. Unlimited tolls and express lanes in the state of Florida. When authorities notify the car rental company of a toll violation, customers that did not purchase the toll package will be billed for those tolls that were assessed plus a $20.00USD administrative fee for per batch to a maximum fee up to $100.00 during the term of the rental period. Customer’s may attempt to register and use their own toll transponder on the rental vehicle if permitted by Sunpass; however please note that our vehicles are already registered with SunPass. Child seat $14.95 per day + taxes GPS $14.95 per day + taxes

  •   Pay later and PrePaid Reservations

    PAY LATER RESERVATIONS If you have made a reservation you may pay on arrival however to make a reservation we will need a credit card to guarantee your vehicle. There may be an authorization on your Credit Card statement of $1.00usd, please be advised that a no show fee equivalent to a one day rental plus taxes with a minimum of $35.00usd will be charged to the Credit Card. PREPAID RESERVATIONS If you made a prepaid reservation your credit card will be charged in full at the time you made your reservation. The Credit Card that you paid for your reservation must be present at the time of pick up. Refund and cancellation policy of Prepaid reservations. A prepaid reservation is a nonrefundable booking and can not be modified. If you do not pick up your rental when scheduled your reservation will be canceled and you will not receive a refund or credit. For customer satisfaction Economy Rent a Car will apply a refund for any of the reasons below after verification: - Flight canceled and the customer could not get to the rental location. - Natural disaster prevented travel - Illness prevented travel - Death in family prevented travel - Jury duty prevented travel - Economy was unable to fulfill the customer reservation (No vehicle available) - Any action due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Please be advised that there may be a charge of up to $50.00usd handling fee for cancellation. If a customer chooses to change the date of their reservation the handle fee will be waived but may be subject to a rate adjustment. For date change please contact 1 877 326 7368.   •   Payment

    Rental rates will be charged at time of rental. All transactions are conducted in United States Dollars. Economy Rent a Car accepts all major credit cards. Economy Rent a Car accepts debit cards from major banks, restrictions will apply. Customers who use their debit card must purchase our PDW (Partial Deductible Waiver). Protection damage waiver (PDW) will be required when using a debit card, This waiver will cover the up to $1000.00 in damage and will bring the security deposit to $1 USD. PDW $9.95+taxes. Economy Rent a Car does not accept debit cards for local renters. Economy Rent a Car does not accept cash transactions, gift cards, prepaid cards, or online baking cards. Economy Rent Car does accept Apple Pay .. Any changes that a customer may request pertaining to an open rental agreement must come to our offices to make the changes.

  •   Pickup/Drop

  •   Prepaid Reservations

The Credit Card that you paid for your reservation must be present at the time of pick up. Refund and cancellation policy-a prepaid reservation is a nonrefundable booking. If you do not pick up your rental when scheduled your reservation will not be modified. If you do not pick up your rental when scheduled your reservation will be canceled and you will not receive a refund or credit. For customer satisfaction Economy will apply a refund for any of the reasons below-after verification- -flight canceled and customer could not get to the rental location-natural disaster prevented travel- Illness prevented travel-death in family prevented travel-jury duty prevented travel-Economy was unable to fulfill the customer reservation (example no vehicle available) - Any action due to the COVID-19 pandemic. If you fail to pick up your vehicle for any of the reasons listed above please contact Economy Rent a Car directly so that we may assist you with your refund. If a customer submits a chargeback, Economy will not be able to refund the customer directly but instead will work with the bank to analyze the petition and decide if refund does apply. Please be advised that there may be a charge of up to USD$150.00 handling fee for canceling. If a customer chooses to change the date of their reservation the handling fee will be waived but may be subject to a rate adjustment. For reservation changes please contact your reservation provider. To process a refund or if you have any problems with your reservation please email customercare@economyrentacar.com. Any changes that a customer may request pertaining to an open rental agreement must come to our offices to make the changes.

  •   Reservation hold time

    Holding reserved vehicles. Vehicles are held for two hours after the pick-up time indicated at the time of the reservation, and only when flight details are provided to us at the time of the reservation, those reservations without a pick-up time listed will be subject to availability and a rate change may apply/ We will hold the vehicle for up to two hours the pick-up time indicated at the time of the reservation, and only . In the event of delays you may call or email us to advise of any changes in your pick up time. After the two hour hold time your reservation will be considered a no show and location may or may not be able to honor your reservation, depending upon availability. Please call our international call center at 877 326 73 68 to inform any change in your pick up time. Economy Rent A Car does not accept debit cards for local residents.

  •   Roadside Assistance

    Economy Rent a car will provide any renter who has purchased the optional Roadside Assistance Protection coverage with 24/7 breakdown assistance without any additional charge. It protects the renter of high service and repair costs for the following incidents: 1) Key lockout service: If a renter experiences locking of the keys or key fob inside the vehicle during their rental period, Economy Rent a Car will cover the cost of a lockout service. Our Roadside will come to assist you and open the vehicle. 2) Flat tire service: If a renter experiences a flat tire during the rental period, Economy Rent a Car will cover the cost of assisting to replace the tire either by a 3rd party service provider Damages caused to the tire will not be covered without the purchase of GTP (Glass and Tire Protection) 4) Dead Battery: If a renter experiences a situation during their rental period, Economy Rent a Car will cover the cost of jumpstart service, a 3rd party service provider, cost of delivering a new vehicle or towing of the vehicle to the nearest Economy Rent a Car location or providing with a new battery. 5) Breakdown caused by empty fuel tank: If a renter experiences a breakdown due to running out of fuel, Economy Rent a Car will cover the costs for breakdown assistance and fuel required to continue your trip. When deciding whether to purchase Roadside Assistance Protection, it is recommended renters check whether they have this coverage available through your personal auto insurance carrier or through a 3rd party carrier. The Roadside Assistance Protection is not an insurance. All services may only be ordered by a direct claim with Economy Rent a Car 24-hour Roadside Protection. Economy Rent a Car will determine the type and extent of service required to ensure the renter stays mobile. If any damage to the rental vehicle occurs which is not covered by Economy Rent a Car within the scope of the Roadside Assistance Protection , the renter is liable for such damage. Roadside Assistance $4.95 per day.

  •   Rules

    By renting a vehicle from Economy Rent A Car and Economy Rent A Car affiliates, you hereby agree that any and all disputes and controversies arising out of your reservations and your rental of the vehicle shall be resolved solely and exclusively by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association.

  •   Shuttle

    Please note that it is strictly prohibited to smoke in the rental vehicle. A penalty fee of $250 will be charged for an odor removal service if you smoke in the vehicle. Excess Cleaning fee will be of $250

  •   Taxes and Fees

    6.5 PERCENT STATE OF FLORIDA SALES TAX - STATE SURCHARGE $2 USD PER DAY - ENERGY FEE $1.50 USD PER DAY ¿ VEHICLE LICENSE FEE $0.99 USD PER DAY - AIRPORT ACCESS FEE 10 PERCENT.
