Each additional driver will be charged an additional fee of USD 20.00 per rental plus tax.

All arrivals between 1700 - 0700 hours incur a $ 50 USD after hours fee. Renter must email for special info to - [email protected]. At least 48 hours prior to arrival. There are several easy and free options available.

All drivers must meet our minimum age requirements, present a valid photo drivers license and a major credit card in their own name. All location policies that apply to the renter will apply to the underage and/or additional driver. Minimum age is 20 years of age.

Office is OPEN 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Visa, MasterCard and American Express are accepted. Cards must be in renters name. At certain times of the year it will be necessary to provide a credit card guarantee in order to reserve a car. Certain car types may require a credit card guarantee year round. If your reservation required a credit card in order to book, please be sure to cancel at a minimum of 48 hours in advance in order to avoid any cancellation and/or penalty. Reservations MUST be cancelled through the original booking source. Should reservation fail to be cancelled within 24 hours, credit card will be charge USD100.00.

All Drivers Licenses are accepted. International drivers permit (IDP) are not required.

Baby, toddler and child seats are available upon request for USD40.00 per rental. NZ law has strict rules regarding child seats. GPS is available upon request for USD10.00/day

Fuel Options - Please return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel as you received it with at the time of rental. If you do not, you will be charged a refueling fee of USD50.00 plus the cost of the fuel.

The vehicle may only be driven on the Island of the Azorean Archipelago where it has been rented, unless prior written permission of the rental location.

All rentals continue to include our Basic Insurance as standard. This included cover now carries an excess of NZD $5,000 and requires a refundable security bond/pre-authorisation of NZD $4,000 at the time of vehicle collection. For customers wishing to reduce their excess and bond, we offer a range of insurance upgrade options, which can be selected at the rental counter. CDW 19 USD PER DAY 250 USD deductible, Renters Collision Insurance accepted, Liability insurance required 15 USD PER DAY, Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) 2 USD PER DAY, Glass and Tire protection 2 USD PER DAY. No restrictions for Local Renters

Unlimited free mileage is included in rental rate.

One way drops are permitted between Auckland and Christchurch. Rental location must be advised of drop at time of rental. A one way drop fee of USD200.00 will be charged if dropping the car in Auckland, with no minimum day requirements. If dropping in Christchurch, the drop fee is $300.00 and the rental must be for a minimum of 18 days.

All quoted rates are in US Dollars and Payments will be taken in the local currency and converted at the day of hire rate according to Westpac Banking Corporation. Any changes to the reservation or rental may result in a change of rate or an additional fee. Overtime charges occur when the renter returns the vehicle past the return date or time specified on the rental agreement. In other words, the car must be returned no later than the same time it was rented, in order to avoid any overtime charges. We do provide a one hour grace period. Makes and models are examples only and are not guaranteed. There are no refunds for early returns or fuel.

Debit cards from Visa, MasterCard and Clave are allowed only as payment, a credit card bond is required. Personal checks are not allowed. A pre-authorisation may be required on your credit card.

Customers who make a prepaid reservation using a debit card need to be aware that the renting location may require a credit card in the renters name be used for leaving a deposit for the rental in order to rent the car. Customers who do not have a credit card may be denied rental.

By renting a vehicle from Economy Rent A Car and Economy Rent A Car affiliates, you hereby agree that any and all disputes and controversies arising out of your reservations and your rental of the vehicle shall be resolved solely and exclusively by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association.

CDW is NOT mandatory if the renter is paying with a Platinum Visa or Mastercard. BUT you MUST PROVIDE WRITTEN proof that your credit card coverage will cover your rental car in NZ or you will be required to purchase our CDW at USD15.00 per day + tax. If you do not purchase our CDW and you do provide written documentation that your credit card covers your rental in NZ, you will be responsible for the full value of the rental vehicle.
