  Additional Drivers

Driver's age and driving licence requirements apply to additional drivers. The number of additional drivers is limited to the number of passenger seats in the vehicle rented. Request to add drivers is made upon pickup at the rental counter. Additional drivers should present the required license documents along with the main Driver's for authorization at the time of pickup.

  Age

Minimum age to rent is 19 and maximum age is 75. If you are below 25 you will be subject to a fee of CAD 20.00/day throughout the rental. (Under age deposit is minimum CAD1500.00)

  Business Hours

Mon to Sun: 8:00am to 11:00pm

  Cancellation

Customers who FAIL TO CANCEL their reservation from the source it was booked, at least 48 hours prior of the pick up time, or DO NOT show up for their reservation are subject to a $ 25 CAD charge or one day rental charge, whichever is higher. No show will be charged the prepaid amount.

  Deposit Rules

Deposit: A minimum deposit amount of $500.00, will be held in your card at the time of the rental, once the vehicle is returned this deposit will be released this process can take 7 to 14 business days. At the time of pickup, a valid credit card with enough funds in the name of the primary driver must be presented for pre-authorization/charge of deposit. Deposit will be held against your credit card during rental period as a guarantee in the case of damage or theft of the vehicle. It will be automatically released if there is no theft or damage during rental period. Please note that this does not represent your total excess liability. For debit card, prepaid card, cash deposits please get in contact with our office for approval. Note: In the case of failure to present a valid credit card or a lack of funds for car rental chargeand deposit, car rental agent may refuse to release the vehicle. No funds paid will be reimbursed. In the case of payment made by credit card not in the name of main driver, the driver may need to supplement evidentiary materials for scrutiny of payments or car rental agent may refuse to release the vehicle. No funds paid will be reimbursed.

  Drivers License

Physical copy of the license is required. A Driver’s License that is a class 5 or equivalent is considered a valid license. A customer that does NOT have a Class 5 Drivers License or equivalent will be charged a fee of 20.00/day USD. Certain categories require a class 5.

  Equipment

Child Safety Seat: CAD 10.00/day, Child Booster Seat: CAD 10.00/day, GPS Navigation: CAD 10.00/day, Additional Driver: CAD 10.00/day The prices given are only in estimated amount. The charges incurred are payable in CAD at the rental counter. Requests for additional service cannot be guaranteed as availability is subject to change.

  Geographic

Rates with unlimited kilometers are only available for travel within British Columbia. If traveling in Alberta, Washington, Oregon, and California rates with unlimited kilometers will have a $20.00/day surcharge. Customers driving within other provinces/States without authorization will be charged $0.59/km, for every km driven, during the entire rental.

  Insurance

This supplier will not accept transferred coverage from any Credit Card or Insurance company (not including ICBC Road Star Plus). In the event you do not have acceptable coverage from ICBC (Insurance Corporation of British Colombia) you will be obliged to purchase suppliers loss damage coverage and third party liability (TPL) in order to successfully collect your car. We can elect not to rent to you if you do not present complete proof of transferable auto liability and physical damage Insurance coverage through ICBC. Proof of collision and liability Insurance that extends to British Colombia at the time of rental should include the name, address of the insurer, policy number and expiration date. The insurer must be located in British Colombia, Canada. If renting a vehicle in the Luxury/Exotic category transferred coverage is not accepted. Inquire at the counter for the rates for insurance.   Mileage

Rates with unlimited mileage are only availble for travel within BC. If traveling in Alberta a 20.00CAD surcharge will apply.

  Other

The vehicles tagged ¿or similar¿ are displayed with images of similar cars in the same category. Vehicle make, model and color are not guaranteed at pick-up. However, you are entitled to a vehicle with the same passenger and luggage capacity in the same category.

  Payment

All major Credit Cards - VISA, Mastercard, AMERICAN EXPRESS, JCB, UnionPay, DISCOVER. For debit card, or cash rentals please get in contact with our office for approval. We do not accept Prepaid Cards. Deposit: A minimum deposit amount of $500.00 will be held in your card at the time of the rental. If under 25 you are required to keep a minimum deposit of $1500.00. For luxury cars deposits can range from $2500.00 - $15000.00. At the time of pickup, a valid credit card with enough funds in the name of the primary driver must be presented for pre-authorization/charge of deposit. Once the vehicle is returned this deposit will be released automatically and the bank/credit card company will process it in 3 to 7 business days. The Credit Card that you paid for your reservation must be present at the time of pick up.

  Prepaid Reservations

If you have made a reservation you may pay on arrival however to make a reservation we will need a credit card to guarantee your vehicle. There may be an authorization on your Credit Card statement of USD$1.00 please be advised that a no show fee equivalent to a one day rental plus taxes with a minimum of USD$35.00 will be charged to the Credit Card. If vehicle is not pick up you can avoid this fee by cancelling your reservation through the same website you made it, you cannot call or write to cancel you can cancel only through the website where the reservation was made at least 48 hours in advance of your scheduled rental time. Prepaid reservations-if you have a prepaid reservation your Credit Card will be charged in full at the time you made your reservation. The Credit Card that you paid your reservation must be present at the time of pick up. Refund and cancellation policy-a prepaid reservation is a nonrefundable booking. If you do not pick up your rental when scheduled your reservation will not be modified. If you do not pick up your rental when scheduled your reservation will be cancelled and you will not receive a refund or credit. For customer satisfaction Economy will apply a refund for any of the reasons below-after verification- -flight cancelled and customer could not get to the rental location-natural disaster prevented travel- Illness prevented travel-death in family prevented travel-jury duty prevented travel-Economy was unable to fulfill the customer reservation (example no vehicle available) - Any action due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Please be advised that there will be a charge of a handling fee for cancelling. If a customer chooses to change the date of their reservation the handling fee will be waived but may be subject to a rate adjustment. For date change please contact 1 877 326 7368. To process a refund or if you have any problems with your reservation please email customercare@economyrentacar.com. Must be prior to your pick up.

  Reservation hold time

Vehicles are held for one hour after reserved arrival time. When flight details are provided, we will hold vehicle for up to one hour after flight arrival. In the event of delays, you may call or e-mail us to advise of any changes in your pick up time. After the one hour window, you will be considered a no-show and we may or may not be able to honor your reservation, depending upon availability.
